Elementary school students who receive dribbling instruction from college students
A technical exchange meeting was held on the 25th at Takato Elementary School in Takato Town, Ina City, inviting the men’s basketball club of Matsumoto University (Matsumoto City) as a lecturer. Eleven male players from the local mini basketball club “Shintoku Girls’ High School” participated and learned the basics of play such as dribbling, shooting, and how to use the body from college students.
This is planned because Hiroyuki Goshima (51), a former regional revitalization cooperation team who teaches at the Takato Shintoku Warriors in Ina City, is an outside instructor at the men’s basketball club at Matsumoto University. Under the title of “Christmas Lesson in Koen Elementary School,” we provided children with an opportunity to practice with university students.
Elementary school students learn how to use the body and the basic movements of dribbling, and repeat the practice of breaking through the opponent’s defense and hitting a shot. The college student explained politely while showing an example. All four university students who participated said that they wanted to be teachers, and Mr. Goshima said, “Children can see and learn, and university students can play and teach. It will be a good experience for each other.”
A child (6th year) who is the captain of the Shintoku Girls’ High School Warriors said, “I was nervous at first, but I enjoyed it. College students are good at dribbling and have a strong core. I want to do my best. “
