The Peruvian U23 volleyball team won the historic silver medal of the I Junior Pan American Games Cali-Valle 2021 by falling 3-2 against Brazil in a hard-fought match played at the Evangelista Mora field in Cali, where the national teams were able to match. a match that they were losing 2 sets to 0.

The Peruvian squad began losing in the first set 25-23 and 25-19, but fought very hard to equalize the match.

In the third and fourth sets the best version of the Peruvians was shown because with a powerful and fast game they were 25-23 and 25-21. The mental strength of those led by Francisco Hervas, in the fourth game, was essential, since losing by six points down, they managed to equalize and turn.

In the fifth set, the Brazilians positioned themselves better on the field and won 15-8.

The Peruvians showed pride and good play. They were applauded for everything they presented and in some moments they put the mighty Brazil between the ropes.

With this result, Brazil takes the gold medal, Peru the silver medal and Argentina the bronze medal after defeating Colombia.
