Kyrie Irving discussed the Nets’ decision to remove him from the team

Kyrie Irving does not hold a grudge against the Brooklyn Nets board after keeping him away from the club for not being vaccinated against COVID-19, a decision the franchise changed later this month in order to have him in road games.

“I understood his decision and I respected it,” Irving told reporters Wednesday to the New York Post. “I really had to sit down and try not to get too emotionally attached to what they were deciding to do. The important thing is the team.”

The 29-year-old spoke out for the first time on the subject. Irving cannot play in home games due to New York City restrictions.
