In Plougastel-Daoulas, a “Friendly day” with new disabled sports proposals – Plougastel-Daoulas

The Departmental Handisport Committee of Finistère was present at Avel sport, in Plougastel-Daoulas, on Wednesday afternoon, for the traditional day of presentation of all sports activities accessible throughout the department for young people aged 6 to 20 years.

A bit like an open house or a sports forum, young people can then discover the disciplines, try them out and share this moment with a valid guest friend, since this annual “Friendly day” is for everyone for a while as well. both festive and sporty, which ends with a shared snack.

Badminton and judo in addition

As in previous editions, blind football, sitting volleyball, basketball, skateboarding, torball, fencing, archery, hip-hop, table tennis, boccia and futsal were there, thanks to various partners and associations. But the offer was enriched this year, for the first time, with badminton and judo.

The trainer of this last discipline, Jason Grandy, double French parajudo champion, is blind and also fights with able-bodied. A red dot on his kimono then indicates to the referee his particular quality and exempts him from turning the tatami at the start of the event. On Wednesday, the mats prominently displayed at the Avel Sport and on which the bearded colossus sat attracted young people and those accompanying them, fascinated by the sporting quality and ease that Jason infused into the judokas of the day.

Beyond sport, adapted nutrition was in the spotlight via the Le Saint Fund, which supports athletes. All the practicable activities (for adults and children) in the department are to be discovered with the handisport committee.
