Girona B-Peralada (1-1): Aroca prevents the white-and-red subsidiary from leading alone

Girona B and Peralada shared the points today in a high-tension derby that has reserved goals and strong emotions for the second half. With this result, the Empordà team extends its unbeaten streak and has not lost for two months, while the white-and-red subsidiary loses a good opportunity to become the solo leader of the Catalan group of the Third RFEF.

After a very balanced first half with few arrivals, the scoreboard has only moved back from the locker rooms when Llorenç Busquets finished off the second post a cross from Zayzoun, who had just entered. Peralada took the lead in the first minute of the second half and this forced their rival to stretch while looking for a draw. That’s when Aroca has appeared, first stopping a header from Biel and later saving the 1-1 against Richmon.

But nothing could be done about it at 85, when Richmon himself connected with a cross from a free kick to beat the goalkeeper. It was a draw and just came the second for Axel Vizuete moments later. Josu Currais has committed a criminal offense against Monju and has been sent off, but Gabri has not taken advantage of the maximum penalty. Goalkeeper Aroca, one of the protagonists of the match, he has guessed his intentions by throwing himself to his right.

Already at a discount, Peralada has been left with nine players on the pitch because Alan Baró got himself booked for a foul and he had to make his way to the locker room just before the final whistle.

With this bookmark, Girona B has 31 points, the same as Olot. They both share the top two spots in the standings. For its part Peralada is third with 28, one more than the fourth, Vilafranca, which lost on Thursday.
