Bayern initially did not live up to their role as favorites, not even with a 7-0 run in the meantime. The Heidelberger forced twelve ball losses through an aggressive defense in the first half and equalized the game at break to 33:33.
In the course of the third round, the guests appeared aggressively more courageous and went into the final section with a six-point lead. There the Munich team lived up to their role as favorites: The hosts opened the passage with an 18-0 run, did not collect any points in the first five and a half minutes and took a decisive 70:58 lead.
Across all competitions, the Munich team achieved their third victory in a row, and that within five days. Bayern have now been unbeaten in the basketball league for four games. For the newcomer from Heidelberg it was the fifth defeat in a row.
