With athletes from 22 federations and where one of the most attractive dishes was the tennis exhibition between the Arévalo brothers (Marcelo and Rafael), the “First Salvadore Sport Festival was held in Sonsonate over the weekendño Sonsonate 2021. More than five hundred athletes from 22 sports participated, including Special Olympics El Salvador. It was organized at the initiative of the Mayor of Sonsonate, which is headed by the former campeòn Rafael Artévalo, in coordination with INDES and the Olympic Committee.
The sports festival, prior to the Arévalo duel, began in the morning on Saturday with a parade at the “Ana Mercedes Campos” municipal stadium, with the participation of chess, judo, karate, American football, weight lifting, bodybuilding, taekwondo, swimming, skating, tennis, table tennis and lime lama, among others. Attracted by the novelty, hundreds of Sonsonatecos were present at the different sporting exhibitions of good level.
In deference to INDES, Co Latino presents some of the main postcards left by the unprecedented festival that mobilized the capital’s sport to the city of coconuts.
