Ousmane Dembele will probably not renew his contract with FC Barcelona, because the club cannot meet his relatively hefty salary requirements. That the Catalans can pay as much as 55 million for Ferran Torres and Erling Haaland reportedly wants to attract Dembele and his management.
Initially, it appeared that the French forward would soon sign his new contract at the Camp Nou, but the situation has completely changed. Spanish media report that Dembele’s agent had a meeting with Barça representatives on Wednesday. Gerard Romero knows that the Dembélé camp bet on a salary of forty million euros per year, with a signing bonus of twenty million on top.
For Barcelona, it was not possible to agree to that proposal, making a deal a long way off. According to Mundo Deportivo, the parties will negotiate in the coming days, other media report that a contract extension is out of the question.
