The goal? Putting the Elephants back on top of African football.
Second in their group behind Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire did not qualify for the World Cup, as in 2018. After a very disappointing third place in their group at the 2017 African Cup of Nations and a quarter-final in 2019, the Elephants must at all costs return to the heights of African football next month.
For this reason, Didier Drogba and Yaya Toure, who have together six African player of the year titles, were called in to reinforce the technical staff of the Ivorian selection.
Next month, Côte d’Ivoire will face Equatorial Guinea, Sierra Leone and Algeria in the group stage of the Africa Cup of Nations.
