French team: Kylian Mbappé will return to the Parc des Princes with the Blues on September 6

After the Euro (June 14 – July 14), it’s time for the Nations League. The French Football Federation (FFF) unveiled this Thursday the calendar of its various selections for the 2024-2025 season. The French men’s team will start its season not at the Stade de France, where it has not played since June 19, 2023, but at the Parc des Princes. It will be for the first day of the League of Nations, September 6, against Italy.

This match will certainly have a very special flavor for Kylian Mbappé. The captain of the Blues, who will leave PSG at the end of the season, will in all likelihood have joined Real Madrid. He will then return to the stadium in which he has played seven seasons since 2017. Mbappé also became the top scorer in the history of PSG at the Parc in January 2024 by scoring his 111th goal, overtaking Edinson Cavani. This season, his last appearance at the Park should take place on May 12 for the reception of Toulouse (33rd day of L1).

Returning to the Stade de France in November

Three days after this meeting at the Parc des Princes, the Blues will welcome Belgium to the Groupama Stadium in Lyon on September 9 and will return to the Stade de France on November 14 against Israel, still on behalf of the League of Nations (5th day).

The French team had to relocate its meetings elsewhere than at the Stade de France due, firstly, to the 2023 Rugby World Cup, but also to the necessary arrangements to be made in the Dionysian enclosure in preparation for the Olympic Games. from Paris (July 26-August 11).

Two meetings are already scheduled there in March and June 2025. Depending on the performance of Didier Deschamps’ men, the first could be played in the final phase of the Nations League. Otherwise, it will be a friendly match, just like the one scheduled for June. The opponents have not yet been determined.

The French women’s team also knows its calendar. The Blues will play just before the Olympic Games on July 12 at the Océane stadium in Le Havre against Sweden in the Euro 2025 qualifiers before a match in October at the Auguste-Bonal stadium in Sochaux, in a friendly or play-off for these same qualifiers.

The Espoirs will have three preparation matches for the Games. Thierry Henry’s men will go to Bayonne on July 4 before two meetings on July 11 and 17 at the Mayol stadium in Toulon. The names of the opponents are, again, not known.
