Aman Farogh Sanjay wins International Future Series crown from South Africa

Indian commuter Aman Farogh Sanjay won a second straight men’s singles title with a relentless victory over second seed Robert Summers in the South Africa International Future Series final here.

Aman, ranked 300, showed tremendous courage as he recovered from the opening game loss to outsmart South African Robert 15-21 21-16 21-12 in 44 minutes and emerge as champion Sunday.

The 21-year-old, who is the reigning Khelo India Youth Games champion, won the Botswana International Future Series title last week.

A product of the Thane Badminton Academy, Aman won the Benin Open title in August this year.

Former No. 1 in India’s Under-19 men’s singles, Aman finished second in the Kenya International Future Series in 2019.

The International South Africa Future Series, organized by Badminton South Africa under the auspices of the World Badminton Federation, is a four-day event.
