Adnan Januzaj (26) is interested in FC Barcelona. The Catalan club wants to invest again under the new trainer Xavi and has the Belgian on its wish list. Januzaj’s contract with Real Sociedad expires this summer, allowing him to negotiate freely with other clubs from January.
Barca’s interest comes at a time when it is bringing in a Spanish international from Manchester City with Ferran Torres. That seems to indicate that the Catalan club has again financial resources – according to local media there would be a transfer fee of 55 million euros. The amount will be paid in installments to Manchester City, with whom the Blaugrana have a friendly relationship. To finance the deal, Barcelona is trying to sell or rent other players.
When players leave, there is also a need for (affordable) newcomers. Adnan Januzaj (26) can fit into that picture. The Belgian will end his contract with Real Sociedad next summer. He has a proposal to extend with the Basque sub-topper, but first wants to explore the market. He will be free to negotiate with other clubs from January.
Januzaj can look back on a strong month of November and has played in every league game of his team so far. (blue)
