5 Players to Add to Fantasy Football Waivers in Week 17

A player of Fantasy Football who is active in the Waivers and who adds players week by week has great chances of going to the Playoffs and winning his championship, and more now in decisive instances of Fantasy Playoffs, you already know that in this week 17 most of the leagues play their Super Bowl, and all this wins in the Waivers, so it is vital to pay attention to the players who are available to put your request and who arrive at your team on Wednesday morning.

These are 5 players to add in Fantasy Football Waivers heading into week 16. There is no clear player to spend all of the FAAB (Free Agent Acquisition Budget) on Waivers unlike last week, plus several cool players for all league formats. The order in which I put them does matter and it is in which I would arrange them if all five were available:

1. WR K.J. Osborn – Vikings

Osborn had a high 19% of targets per route run, and was on 81% of the team’s routes. Without Adam Thielen due to injury, these percentages could go even higher and increase the likelihood that Osborn will have a similar game to Week 14 where he exploded with a great TD of more than 40 yards. He is still available in more than 80% of the leagues and it is vital to have him even above McKenzie.

2. WR Isaiah McKenzie – Bills

With an elite utilization in one of the most explosive offenses in the entire NFL, the reason I am not fully on his boat yet is because he has four heads above him that does not allow him to project the same utilization for the week 17.

If Gabriel Davis and Cole Beasley are out the following week because of COVID it will have been worth adding him to your team, since he managed with 28% of targets per route run in the second offense that passes the ball in the entire NFL.

3. RB Dare Ogunbowale – Jaguars

I like this RB better than any of the Eagles ones, as volume is king and Ogunbowale had 96% of snaps without James Robinson, compared to Jordan Howard and Boston Scott, who shared 50/50 and possibly Kenneth Gainwell joining the equation. The RB of the Jaguars also handled 70% of the team’s routes and had a high 13% of targets per route run. Curiously, it is this player who can save your team without RB.

4. WR Josh Palmer – Chargers

Without Mike Williams on the field, Josh Palmer was the WR1 of the offense, even winning the role from Keenan Allen. Ran routes in 97% of the dropbacks by Justin Herbert and had 19% of targets per route run.

5.  RB Jordan Howard – Eagles

This RB dominated the backfield once Miles Sanders was injured. Although he will be dealing snaps with Scott and Gainwell, the Eagles are the best running offense in the entire NFL and enjoy running the ball over and over so Howard could have decent volume.

Fantasy Football Waivers Options for Deep Leagues

Do you play in deep leagues? These are your guys:

  • QB Trey Lance – 49ers: In week 5, 51% of the 49ers carries were designed for Trey Lance and he was one of the best QBs in Fantasy Football plus he threw 2 Big Time Throws. It is a priority if you need a QB.
  • TE Gerald Everett – Seahawks: It ran 83% of the possible routes and had a very high percentage of targets per route run of 20%.
  • RB Rex Burkhead – Texans: Without David Johnson, Burkhead dominated with 62% of the snaps, 58% of the carries and 54% of routes run being a workhorse.
  • WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling – Packers: When he’s on the field, he’s ahead of Allen Lazard when it comes to utilization.
  • TE Mo Alie-Cox – Colts: If you know me, you know that he is my favorite player and he will finally have a chance to be the TE1 of this offense. Last week without Jack Doyle he dominated with 78% of routes run. Last season only George Kittle, Travis Kelce, and Darren Waller had more rushing yards than Mo.

If none of the aforementioned is available, these might interest you:

  • WR Braxton Berrios – Jets : Berrios was the WR1 of this offense and dominated in target share.
  • RB Boston Scott – Eagles: When there is such a running offense, you should go for this player who dominates through the air and has a good percentage of carries.
