The Belgium Padel Team lost its last qualifying match for the Padel World Championships, which take place in Doha, Qatar, against Italy on Wednesday (3-0).

The Gentlemen, who won Qatar on Monday, lost to the Brazilians after three matches played with professional players, favorites of the competition on Tuesday. By losing their third match against Italy, the Belgian men’s team sees its adventure end here, at the gates of the quarter-finals.

Nick Braet and Bram Coene were beaten 6-3, 6-0 by Andres Britos and Daniele Cattaneo. Jeremy Gala and Clement Geens then bowed 7-6 (8/6), 6-3 to Simone Cremna and Marcelo Capitani. Laurent Montoisi and Jerome peeters lost the 3rd mach 6-1, 6-4 against Riccardo Sinicropi and Lorenzo di Giovanni.

The Belgian men’s team, 3rd in Group C, will now play the classification matches for places 9 to 16.

On the women’s side, Team Belgium won their third match against the Netherlands 3-0.

Sophie Mestach and Helena Wyckaert won the first point by beating Steffie Weterings and Marcella Koek 6-1, 6-2. Babette Wyckaert and Elyne Boeykens then dominated Milou Ettekoven and Tess Van Dinteren 6-3, 6-1, before Marie Maligo and Dorien Cuypers do not beat Chayenne Ewijk and Rosalie Van der Hoek 6-3, 6-4 to make 3-0.

The ladies lost the first against Italy and won the second against Denmark, so they qualify for the quarter-finals.
