The Red Flames win… 19-0 against a poor Armenian team and smash their record

What a festival! Belgium, without mercy, inflicted a real correction on Armenia this Thursday evening as part of the qualifications for the 2023 Women’s World Cup. The Red Flames won… 19 goals to 0 after planting eleven roses in the first period . Armenia, the 128th nation in the world, was no match for it. Technique, Physics, tactics: the Armenians lacked a bit of everything this evening to hope to worry these Red Flames who have prepared wonderfully the crucial reception of Poland next Tuesday. For the anecdote, with this score of 19-0, the Red Flames offered themselves the biggest victory in their history, erasing the 12-0 acquired against Moldova in 2017.

The Red Flames are not here to string pearls. From the 3rd minute of play, Wijnants, from the left, center at ground level for Eurlings which scores in two stages. At 18, the young striker scores her first goal for Belgium (1-0, 3 ‘).

Two minutes later, captain Wullaert take advantage of a very bad back pass from an Armenian defender to grab the ball. She then presents herself in front of the guardian Andriasyan and the lobe intelligently before pushing the ball to the bottom (2-0, 5 ‘). With each touch of Belgian ball, the opposing defense is in panic.

In the process, Vanhaevermaet launches Wijnants in depth who plays perfectly against Andriasyan to score his team’s third goal, his first for the national team (3-0, 7 ‘). The Armenians barely have time to recover from this goal when the Red Flames are already on the attack. On a free kick, catch heluwe, lonely on the right, center at the 2nd post for Tysiak who does not need to be prayed for (4-0, 10 ‘). Andriasyan, the guardian of Armenia, is living a real nightmare. And he is not ready to stop …

17th minute of play, Wullaert finds De Caigny in the axis. The Hoffenheim player then makes a one-two with… an Armenian defender and rolls up a nice shot from the right which lodges in the skylight (5-0, 17 ‘). This is De Caigny’s 30th goal in the selection, which thus exceeds Aline Zeler in the ranking.

A few minutes later, Tysiak (6-0, 23 ‘) then De Caigny (7-0, 28’) offered themselves a brace before the youngster Eurlings do not imitate them after a superb collective movement (8-0, 30 ‘). Do you want more ? No problem ! Three minutes later, De Caigny took advantage of a very bad save by the opposing goalkeeper to plant a hat-trick (9-0, 33 ‘). 9-0? The time for a moment since Wullaert scores another goal with a header in stride (10-0, 34 ‘) before Vanhaevermaet sets the score at 11-0 with a fine header. The break comes a little late for the visitors.

The second period had barely started when Wullaert decided to increase the score even further (12-0, 51 ‘). After a short period of calm, Tysiak took advantage of a corner to plant a hat-trick (13-0, 72 ‘). Not bad for… a defender.

And the Red Flames don’t seem to want to stop there. The newcomer Teulings scored the fourteenth goal for the Belgians (79 ‘) then it was the turn of Cayman to participate in the party after another Armenian error (15-0, 80 ‘).

As we approach the end of the game, Belgium allows themselves to score four more goals in the space of six short minutes. Cayman first scored a double (88 ‘), Wullaert then offered a one woman show within the Armenian defense (90 ‘) before planting a quintuple (90 + 2’), and to conclude, Teulings scored a… 19th goal to end the Belgian festival (90 + 4 ‘).

Eight different goal scorers, a quintuple of Captain Wullaert (who also distilled 3 assists), a hat-trick from Tysiak and one from De Caigny: the Red Flames did not do in the lace this Thursday evening.
