After having been a long-time player with the Dieppe UC rugby pennant team, Sylvain Yahiaoui was the coach.

Retired from the senior ranks since he gave way to Naoufal Jelti, the great “Yaya” works in post-training with the U19 Dieppe UC.

The latter will soon begin the competition after long months disrupted by the health crisis.

We really had to go looking for players to build a U19 group. Many clubs did not withstand the health crisis and youth teams were wiped off the map. It is heartbreaking and we must redouble our efforts. A few weeks ago, at the very start of the season, I just had 7 players left to make up a U19 team …

Start of the championship on November 13

So “Yaya” beat the encore and talked about rugby over and over again.

Today, it counts 18 licensed at Dieppe UC for “his” U19 category, which is obviously too short to build a team.

Despite everything, he will achieve this after having forged an agreement with the Eudo club which brings in about ten players in addition.

This agreement with Eu will allow us to resume the championship normally on November 13 with a trip to AS Rouen UC. We will play matches and harden our young people so that they then shine in the senior ranks. With Marc-Antoine Mérault (his deputy), we are committed to preparing for the future of Dieppe UC.

“Rediscover the pleasure”

The Duke’s U19 group is made up of players aged 17-19 who train on Wednesday (6 p.m.) and Friday (6:30 p.m.) at the Stade Delaune.

Taking advantage of the school holidays, the young people of Dieppe and Eudois gathered on Wednesday afternoon from 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. for an important moment of cohesion to unite energies.

In the coming weeks, the U19 Ducistes will “replay and above all find pleasure”, concludes Sylvain Yahiaoui.

Scrum-half Mathias Foirest will be part of the celebration, he who remains a U19 who recently tasted the Federal 3 championship with the pennant team.

It is a good illustration of the rising youth of Duke rugby, the one to whom it will be necessary to give time to grow up to become competitive.
