Huelva City Council creates a synergy with commerce and hospitality for the World Cup – Andalusian Badminton Federation

The World Cup event in the Huelva city is getting closer and closer, that is why the Department of Commerce of the Huelva City Council today presented the actions that are being carried out from the Huelva trade and its hospitality industry in favor of the World Cup. . Up to 5,000 cards will be distributed with bonuses of up to 25% for those attending the Badminton World Championships that will take place at the Carolina Marín Sports Palace from November 28 to December 19.

The Councilor for Commerce and Markets, Tania González, stated that “this discount card is the way to welcome participants in the World Cups by the commerce and hospitality sector of Huelva, a way of thanking them for their visit and to make them feel good in a city characterized by its hospitality and the warm welcome that its people give to visitors ”.

Also, in the promotional work as we have already advanced, the tigress Onuba will visit the most important commercial areas of Huelva, at the same time that all passers-by will be able to photograph themselves with the pet thanks to the instant photography activity that is being promoted so that citizens can have a memory of the World Cup. This action began a few days ago with the parade of Onuba with the Charanga de Bollullos; and the installation of a stand in the Mercado del Carmen.

As for the commercial and catering establishments, up to 1,800 die-cut pen-cardboard models of the mascot have been distributed, which will generate great visibility of the World Cup in the province. In addition, to facilitate the transfer to the Carolina Marín Sports Palace on the date of the World Cups, lines 1 and 2 will be reinforced.

Finally, it is also worth highlighting the distribution of 1,800 identification vinyls and 10,000 cloth shopping bags with the World Cup image in the CCA stores in Centro and Isla Chica.

The Councilor for Citizen Participation and Sports, María Teresa Flores, has stated that “our city is already experiencing the environment prior to becoming the World Capital of Badminton in a matter of twelve days, with the most important sporting event in the history of Huelva, which will to suppose an external projection without precedent, as the forecasts guarantee, with an estimate of 30,000 visits; more than 2,000 athletes of 65 nationalities; the image of our city will reach 614 million homes around the world with broadcasting on 21 international televisions and different multimedia platforms; and a direct economic impact of 16 million euros and an indirect economic impact of 270 million is expected ”. Later he stressed that the hotel capacity is already exhausted both in Huelva and in the nearby municipalities.

With this first strategic business plan for Huelva, the aim is to create a synergy between the commercial and hospitality sectors and the most relevant events that take place in the city, starting with this great World Cup event.
