Fines imposed on Charleroi and the Union for the use of pyrotechnic devices

A sanction linked to the fact that their supporters used pyrotechnic material inside the stadium. This decision was taken by the Disciplinary Committee of the Royal Belgian Football Federation (RBFA). Charleroi was punished for incidents during the home match against Genk (2-0) on October 17. Before kick-off, a dozen flares had been lit in the local supporters’ stand. After Nicholson’s goal (1-0), a Bengal fire burned in the stands. A rocket landed in the neutral zone, forcing a firefighter to intervene.

On October 22, Charleroi had already received a fine of 3,000 euros for the same reason during the September 26 match against Mechelen.

The Union was punished for five rockets launched in the spectacular home game against Seraing (4-2) in mid-October. These were lit in Duden Park after Vanzeir’s equalizer (2-2) just after the hour mark.
