A test before the 2024 Olympics
After Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne (Savoie), Bourg-de-Péage (Drôme) and Voiron (Isère), the Big twelve tour, a three-on-three international basketball tournament, arrives on Sunday May 26 at the Alp’ Arena de Gap, for the last stage of the week. The plateau looks set to be raised.
The French women’s teams (first and U23 for girls) will be present with a view to preparing for the Paris Olympic Games this summer. Other nations will be represented such as Portugal and Greece (girls and boys); Germany (girls); Switzerland and Turkmenistan (boys). 3X3 made its debut at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. The Big Twelve Tour is intended to be a replica of the Olympic format.
The format of the meetings
On the program for Sunday afternoon, a match every 30 minutes. The games are played on a field half the size (15 x 11 m) of classic basketball. There is only one basket.
