Elise Mertens and Su-Wei Hsieh started the match hesitantly and were already behind a break after games. They rectify that crooked situation in the 7th game. In the tiebreak, the service faltered against the opposition, although Mertens and Hsieh still needed 4 set points at 6-0 to win the set.
In the 2nd set they continued on the momentum of the tiebreak. Mertens and Hsieh served strongly and forced a break in the 4th game. At 5-2, Krawczyk had to save to stay in the game, but failed. After a good return from Mertens, the American couldn’t get the ball inside the lines anymore.
