Krejčíková was in pain

However, the former number one Kerberová tirelessly returned one ball after another, the Czech Republic spoiled and lost the pass to 3: 4. At 4: 5, she still had a breakball to prolong the match, but Němka sent the ball to the line and immediately Krejčíková lost the match.

“I fought one hundred percent and I don’t think I have anything to be ashamed of,” Krejčíková said. “It was great, even though I didn’t succeed. How the hall roared, how we pulled and everyone stood behind me. I really enjoyed it and my tennis got better and better because of that. It was a pity that I didn’t get it in the end “I missed playing two balls differently and I could have been a little happier.”

She also wanted to play doubles, but the team decided to be replaced by Hradecká. “Of course, it drew me to the court, but I believe that the girls will take the point and I will save my strength for the next matches,” said Krejčíková. “Now we’ll leave it alone and deal with the next day. The most important thing is to get a good night’s sleep, gain energy to be as ready as possible for the next matches,” she said.

Siniaková and Hradecká played a great season together in 2017.
