Unlikely turnaround: 10-man Union from 0-2 to 4-2 against Seraing, courtesy of hat-trick hero Mitoma | 11th match day JPL

Jupiler Pro LeagueUnion-Seraing became a match with two faces. The first half was all for Seraing. After the break, Union, who had fallen by ten just before the break and was 0-2 behind, took over completely. Mitoma’s stand-in was in between.

Seraing immediately made it very difficult for Union. It secured the home team high and thanks to many position changes, the visitors easily found the free man. Union was unrecognizable. No confidence and inspiration at the ball. Undav showed himself halfway through the first half, but Dietsch went down well.

On the half hour, Seraing took the lead. Jallow made a great move in midfield and was allowed to dribble from the Union defense to the edge of the box. In the end Jallow was even allowed to lash out and his effort went in well through both goalposts.

Union was completely out of whack. At central defender Burgess, the light went out a few minutes later. Maziz sent Mikautadze deep into the back of Burgess, who lay down far too easily for an offensive foul. Referee Verboomen rightly did not intervene. Mikautadze calmly pushed the 0-2 through Moris’s legs. Just before half time, Union had to deal with another blow. Lazare, who was kicking off for the first time in the competition, received his second yellow card for a cynical applause.

Mazzu intervened during the break and brought Mitoma between the lines. The Japanese flank attacker immediately lit the fuse with his accelerations. Union showed a completely different face and ten minutes into the second half, Mitoma managed to push the connecting goal next to Dietsch. Even with a male, Seraing was more simply overrun by a furious Union. Vanzeir made the deserved equalizer in minute 66 on a request from who other than his buddy Undav.

Union eventually went on and on. Fifteen minutes before the whistle, Seraing lost the ball. Vanzeir stabbed Mitoma into the alley, and he remained icy calm again. On the other side, Moris made a great save on Jallow. In the final minute, Mitoma put the icing on the cake. After a great run, he captured the 4-2 final score.
