For the second year in a row, the Los Angeles Dodgers find themselves trailing 3-1 in their National League Championship Series meeting with the Atlanta Braves. But this time, the frustrations are clearly manifesting in the Los Angeles field.
While the Braves have yet to make a mistake in the series (and have only made one mistake the entire postseason), defense has been a struggle for the Dodgers, particularly with midfielder-turned-fighter Gavin Lux.
In Game 3, Lux misplayed a fly ball that triggered a four-run inning for Atlanta before the Dodgers’ eventual comeback. And where Walker Buehler understood Lux’s struggles in a new position, Game 4 starter Julio Urias basically called Lux right there on the field.

With runners in first and third innings in the third inning, pearl enthusiast Joc Pederson gently hit a fly ball to shallow center field. But instead of diving for an attempt to dive, Lux released and fielded the ball on a rebound. Urias turned to center field and raised his arms in disbelief, glaring at his center fielder.
Urias clearly wanted Lux to dive in. He let everyone see how he felt about Lux’s effort.
And sure, Lux should probably have tried a better try, but it’s not a huge look from Urias that makes it look like Lux was disappointing the team. Lux wasn’t the one who allowed three home runs before that hit.
That was basically Wednesday’s game for Los Angeles because even Gold Glove winner Mookie Betts had a hard time in center field.
you know dodgers have a problem in center field if even mookie betts is making mistakes pic.twitter.com/okYHBNlpOY
