Tuchel: “Lukaku will miss the next two matches, then we’ll see” | Premier League

Romelu Lukaku had to leave after 23 minutes in the Champions League against Malmö with a sprained ankle. The Red Devils attacker will certainly miss Chelsea’s next two games.

“Like Timo Werner, Romelu Lukaku will not be there against Norwich and Southampton. Then we will see,” Chelsea coach Thomas Tuchel said in his press chat on Friday.

“I’m not going to speculate about their unavailability. Sometimes it goes faster than expected, sometimes slower. Both players are well looked after. They look at it positively. I’m not too worried.”

Without Lukaku and Werner, Tuchel may opt for his compatriot Kai Havertz in the striker. “He can act as a false 9. It will be different than with Romelu, but we want the same energy in the sixteen,” said Tuchel.
