The basketball players from Medipolis SC Jena were able to win their game in the 2nd basketball league on Saturday. 92:84 (39:41) won the team of coach Domenik Reinboth over the Uni Baskets Paderborn.
The first quarter of the encounter, however, was won by the basketball players from North Rhine-Westphalia, who traveled to the Saale as fourth in the table, with 21:20.
The guests from Paderborn maintained their dominance on the pitch in the second quarter as well, as they were able to go into the cabins when the score was 41:39. In the meantime, however, the home side were in the lead with a 37:36 lead, even if very entertaining, thanks to Nico Brauner.

After 30 minutes the score was 65:65. Ergo: Neither of the two teams could necessarily break away.
The final ten minutes of the encounter turned out to be correspondingly exciting. After a good two minutes, Medipolis SC Jena was able to break away by four points (71:67) – the hall and in particular the in-house speaker were raging. The joy was really short-lived, however, as the Paderborn team immediately took the lead again and were in the lead with 73:71 after a good six and a half minutes. But the Thuringians reacted and equalized, then thanks to Brandon Omar Thomas again seized the lead (76:73) and then also asserted that Rayshwan Laron Simmons turned a threesome to a temporary 81:75. After that, the hosts were able to gradually break away, with a good three minutes to go with eleven points (86:75) in front – it was the preliminary decision …
The best thrower in the ranks of the Jena team was Brandon Omar Thomas, who contributed 28 points to the victory of Medipolis SC Jena.
