With Quintana Roo stamp, Mexico triumphs in the Pan American Table Tennis

CANCÚN, QRoo, September 18, 2021.- The Mexican table tennis team led by the players Clío Bárcenas and Darío Arce, won three gold medals and two bronze medals in the Pan-American Under-19 Championship held in the Dominican Republic.

The Quintana Roo Clío Bárcenas and Darío Arce, under the direction of the coach of Quintana Roo Ricardo Sosa, also joined forces in mixed doubles to win the gold medal for Mexico, beating the Canadian couple composed of Ly Edwars and Sophie Gauthier 3-1 in sets.

The second gold medal of the day came in women’s doubles with the couple made up of Clío Bárcenas from Quintana Roo and Arantza Cossio from Jalisco, who under the direction of Alexis Agüero beat the Sung sisters 3-1 on behalf of the United States. .

The finishing touch for the Mexican delegation came with the third medal in the men’s doubles modality with the Quintana Roo Darío Arce and Juan Gómez from Jalisco, who under the direction of Ricardo Sosa beat the Brazilian team in a big game. The Mexicans lost the match two sets to zero, and ended up coming back from the duel to win sensationally 3-2.

The bronze medals for the Mexican team came with Clío Bárcenas from Quintana Roo individually after losing the semifinal to Raquel Sung of the United States.
