Rondo’s psychopathic workout before his return to the Lakers

After a one-year parenthesis away from the ranks of the team, Rajon Rondo is preparing to return to the Lakers’ locker room. For the occasion, the veteran leader does not intend to skimp on working hours, and has already shown in a crazy training session!

If he could go back, maybe he would change the course of his history, and accept the offer from his leaders. After the high-flying 2020 playoffs, concluded by obtaining the title, Rajon Rondo had decided to leave the Lakers behind. A choice undoubtedly largely motivated by the financial aspect, which did not bear fruit very much thereafter.

Author of three disastrous first months on the Atlanta side, the two-time NBA champion took over the management of the Clippers, with whom he finished the season. His passage there will not leave much of a trace than that which he was able to make at the Hawks. Eventually removed from the rotation of Tyronn Lue, he had the opportunity to test the market again this summer, and made a decision that was a priori more reasoned from a sporting point of view.

After having reached an agreement around a buyout with the Grizzlies, where he had just been traded, the double R thus agreed to return to the Purple & Gold, in exchange for a minimum contract. And even if Frank Vogel was not very encouraging about his playing time on the spot, the veteran intends to fight to scratch the minutes. The proof, with a recent video of his workout with coach Chris Johnson.

Present to train from 6 am, Rondo would have asked to call on … a player of 2m10, just to work on his finish near the circle. A great way to get as close as possible to match conditions, and improve your floaters and other confusing layups. At the same time, he was also able to demonstrate that he had not lost any of his physical form, showing himself super-sharp.

The Lakers Nation can therefore have great hopes for him. It should be remembered that the former leader of the Celtics remains at the end of the season remarkable in terms of distance shooting (43.2% to the Clippers), an area that has long been lacking. Fans can thus hope that he will turn over 40% again at 3 points in the coming months, which would make him a danger at any distance!

When some announce it in pre-retirement to the Lakers, Rajon Rondo shows that he does not come back to relax. Waking up at dawn to train is the best illustration.
