Attempted match manipulation at Energie Cottbus!
Several players in the regional league have received offers for manipulation for today’s cup game at Ludwigsfelder FC (2 p.m.). The club published this on its homepage on Saturday.
In a message with the headline “NOT WITH US” it says: “In the past few days several players from FC Energie Cottbus have received offers to fix the match in the AOK-Landespokal Brandenburg at Ludwigsfelder FC. Here, large sums of money were offered if the game would get a corresponding course. “
The brief statement goes on to say: “The players concerned immediately reported these dubious offers to the club and FC Energie has informed the Brandenburg state football association about it and hereby makes the process public in consultation with the association and Ludwigsfelder FC.”
FC Energie clearly distances itself from any kind of match-fixing and will provide the investigating authorities with all information on criminal prosecution.
In the second round of the Brandenburg State Cup, Energie Cottbus will meet Ludwigsfelder FC today at 2 p.m.
