Puy-l’Évêque. Football: a new president at the PPFC

At the end of the last general assembly of the Puy-l’Evêque-Prayssac football club, during which the outgoing president Carlos Moura had expressed his desire not to seek a new mandate (he remains however a youth coach), Jérémy Laurens was elected by the board of directors in his place. Before training on Tuesday, September 14, he agreed to meet with us.

Can you give us a quick portrait of yourself?

Aged 30, in charge of professional clients at the Banque Populaire de Gourdon, I live in Prayssac. I have only known one club, the PPFC. I started there at the age of 6, and even when I was a student in Toulouse, I managed to get back to the Lot to participate in the weekend meetings. Victim of recurring muscle problems, I am refraining from playing for the moment.

What is the reason for your commitment to the head of the club?

I would like to create a dynamic within it and bring our villages to life in sport. The desire to involve local partners in the life of the PPFC and to create a family and friendly atmosphere, also guides me. And then, we are going to try to re-motivate a few players who have been demobilized by the crisis.

How are the different sections of the club structured?

Two senior teams are involved in the district championship: the first in D1, the reserve in D2. The u7, u9 and u11 have a full complement. However, we have merged with the Montcabrier club for the categories u13 (2 teams), u15, u17. This allows us to pool resources. The total number of licensees exceeds one hundred with a significant increase among seniors.

What are your goals ?

The start of the season did not smile on us: eliminated 2-1 by Capdenac from the Coupe de France, we narrowly lost at Souillac in the 4 to 3 league. We hope to shine in the Bondoux Cup (which we have won twice by the past), and situate ourselves in the places of honor of our hen. Finally, it would be good if the 2 ensures its maintenance in D2.

What is the management team like?

Young elements rub shoulders with experienced men. Alex Periès occupies the vice-presidency; Alain Molinié, the secretariat; Joëlle Anton and Andy Le Trado ensure the treasury.
