In Berlin-Lichtenberg, shots were fired at various locations on Monday night and two men were injured. Every time the shooter is said to have fired his victims in the leg. The police were on duty with a larger contingent and were looking for the alleged perpetrator.
The police apparently assume that the perpetrators are the same in both cases. First of all, a man is said to have been shot late on Sunday evening around 10:30 p.m. Several witnesses unanimously reported two shots in the north of the Rummelsburg district at the Lichtenberger Brücke. He is said to have been hit in the lower leg.
Some time later around midnight, shots are said to have risen again one and a half kilometers further east in Friedrichsfelde. According to rescue workers, a 27-year-old man was injured in the thigh there. Several bullet holes could be seen on a house entrance door on Köpitzer Strasse. Both victims were taken to hospitals.
The police moved in with heavily armed forces and sealed off both crime scenes, the officers had machine guns with them. The Special Operations Command (SEK) has also been requested in the meantime. The B1 was temporarily blocked from Friedrichsfelde to the east, the police searched the area with a helicopter.
According to eyewitnesses, the first shots were fired in Skandinavische Strasse below the Lichtenberger Bridge, northeast of Lichtenberg train station. The second case occurred in the residential area at the intersection of Alt-Friedrichsfelde, Am Tierpark.
Officially, the police could initially only confirm that a major operation was ongoing and that two people had been injured. The fire brigade said it had been alerted because shots were fired and a person was said to have been injured.

The first victim is a man who was injured in the leg below the knee. First responders tied the leg with a belt to stop the bleeding until ambulance arrived. They reported shots. Whether the man was actually shot in the leg was initially not confirmed by the police or fire brigade during the night.
The criminal police were also on site, officials searched the area around the crime scene for traces. The emergency services checked the sidewalk and bushes with flashlights – apparently to find the projectiles or the remains of the cartridge cases.

The eyewitnesses also reported that the alleged perpetrator should have escaped on foot across the bridge, i.e. Bundestrasse 1 and 5. In the second case, eyewitnesses reported that there was a loud bang – as with New Year’s Eve bollards. Several shots are said to have been fired there too.
