DALLAS – Right guard Zack Martin left the reserve list linked to COVID-19 and reinstated the Dallas Cowboys roster on Monday, but the team will start the week without defensive end Randy Gregory due to the NFL health and safety protocol.

Gregory ended up on the COVID-19 roster four days after playing the opener against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Blocker Brandon Knight was reinserted into the lineup at the same time as Martin.

Martin missed the duel against the defending Super Bowl champions after being tested positive for COVID-19 five days earlier. The Cowboys could miss the services of another starter if Gregory can’t play this weekend.

Gregory must present two negative tests within 24 hours to be able to leave the reserve list. The Cowboys cross swords with the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday.

The Texan troop will be without receiver Michael Gallup for at least three weeks. Gallup was placed on the injured list due to a strained left calf. He got injured against the Buccaneers.

Even though Martin is back, the Cowboys find themselves without the services of one of their best linemen. Right-tackle La’el Collins has been suspended for five games for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy.
