FC Barcelona has a budget of 765 million euros for this season | Football

Barcelona had initially expected 791 million euros in revenue for the fiscal year of the 2020-2021 season. That was based on the return of supporters to the stadium last December, but which did not happen for the rest of the season.

Chairman Joan Laporta had previously reported a similar financial loss during a press conference explaining the departure of star player Lionel Messi. The chairman then said that the total debt of the club is 1.35 billion euros, but that the club can have a balanced budget again within two years.

The financial problems forced the club of coach Ronald Koeman to say goodbye to club icon Messi, who left for Paris Saint Germain on a free transfer and thus provided some relief in the salary budget. Due to the salary cap that La Liga has set based on the budget of the clubs, Barcelona has had to make significant cuts this season.
