Dutch coach Guus Hiddink ended his career after recovering from covid-19. The 74-year-old coach, who led Real Madrid and Chelsea, among others, announced this in an interview with SBS television.
Hiddink last coached the Curacao national team, which he missed in several World Cup qualifiers due to the plague. Curacao eventually lost in the second round with Panama.
Prior to that, Hiddink worked twice at PSV Eindhoven, with which he won six titles and also won PMEZ (today’s Champions League) in 1987/1988. He also has a triumph in the English Cup with Chelsea and two fourth places at the World Cup with the Netherlands (1998) and Korea (2002).
