Badminton player Carolina Marín has been an Olympic champion at the Rio de Janeiro Games, has won multiple world championships, has been number one in the BWF classification and has been decorated with the Gold and Bronze Medals for Sports Merit. Gymnast Almudena Cid has competed in four Olympic finals with magnificent results, while also winning gold in national and international championships. She was also awarded the Gold Medal for Sporting Merit. Tennis player Àlex Corretja has participated and won numerous ATP tournaments, as well as the Davis Cup and Roland Garros, and was a bronze medalist in doubles at the 2000 Sydney Games.
