Browns want AFC North crown

Since the NFL was reorganized in 2002 and the current eight divisions were established, los Cleveland Browns have never won the AFC North and they’ve only made the playoffs twice, one of them was last season. Nevertheless, the panorama has changed within the North division of the American Conference and the Browns could remain with the position of honor in 2021.

After losing in the Divisional Round against the Kansas City Chiefs, they reinforced defensive deficiencies through free agency and added to safety John Johnson y al defensive lineman Jadeveon Clowney. In the Draft, Kevin Stefanski, head coach of the team, also focused on that side of the field, since the first two rounds were for defense; the cornerback Greg Newsome and the linebacker Jeremiah OwusuKoramoah.

On the offensive, a second year under the leadership of Stefanski and Alex Van Pelt will mean an improvement for Baker Mayfield and company. The QB seeks a contract extension after having his best year as a professional. The Oklahoma graduate threw for 3,563 yards with 26 touchdowns and just eight interceptions.

In Cleveland’s attack we must also add the best running back in the Division, Nick Chubb. Injuries kept him from playing the entire 2020 season, but in 12 games he had 1,067 yards and 12 rushing touchdowns.

The only thing that remains to be seen is whether they will be able to prevail in a fierce fight for the AFC Northern Crown against the Baltimore Ravens from Lamar Jackson.
