Over 400 women and men have been competing at five qualifying locations since Saturday and are hoping for a coveted final ticket. The finals will again be held as part of the Erste Bank Open in the Wiener Stadthalle.

“The event is great. Eligible are players with an Austrian license and a general skill level of 6.0+ (women) and 4.0+ (men). In addition to the Stadthalle venue, personal training including coaching with Thiem is of course the big prize for the winner.

Other locations in the next few weeks will be Anif, Klagenfurt, Wels, Bruck an der Mur, which will follow on October 24th. the final tournament in Traiskirchen and the finals on October 25th in the Wiener Stadthalle.
