The Province proposes to animate the affected children!

Beyond the countless missions carried out to clear, clean, feed and relocate, the provincial authorities have announced that they want to “make children smile”.

This is why, via its Culture and Sports departments with their teams of specialized animators, the Province of Liège proposes to meet the children of disaster victims on the territory of the municipalities concerned and to develop there, during August, “a program of cultural and sporting activities ranging from creative workshops to badminton, volleyball and basketball psychomotricity courses, including bike rides and nature discoveries”. The communes of Chaudfontaine, Liège, Pepinster, Trooz and Verviers are already interested.

In the same logic, “for all families and disaster victims who would like to take a break and take a break during a visit”, the Province of Liège will grant free access to all of its provincial and paraprovincial sites throughout the month of August upon presentation of its identity card. We are talking here about the sites of the castle of Jehay, Palogne, Wégimont, Blegny-Mine or the Hautes-Fagnes park and the Museum of Walloon life.

Meals, laundry …

Aid and donation coordination unit, administrative aid, accommodation, and other reinforcements for cleaning and municipal services are several missions already carried out by the Province. In a few figures, we will retain these 527 provincial agents who worked within the framework of their mission or in the structures set up to manage the consequences of this disaster, these 16,040 meals carried out at EP Verviers since July 28 to l initiative of the Verviers ma ville solidaire non-profit organization, 1,500 kg of clothing from emergency response services washed at the provincial laundry, 1 tonne per day of laundry for disaster victims washed at the provincial laundry, 20 computers and 15 telephones mobilized for the call-center at the Palais and the reception of donations at the Country-Hall, 3,000 calls to the call-center.
