Popular sports – Berlin – campaign kick-off: family sports festival well attended – sports

Berlin (dpa) – Well over 10,000 visitors attended the traditional family sports festival of the State Sports Association of Berlin. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the event on Sunday did not take place in the Olympic Park, but for the first time decentralized in ten districts. In the Friedrich-Ludwig-Jahn-Sportpark, LSB President Thomas Härtel, together with Sports Senator Andreas Geisel and the spokesman for the Berlin professional clubs, Kaweh Niroomand, gave the starting shot for the new sportVEREINtuns campaign, which advertises membership in the sports club, such as the LSB on Communicated on Sunday.

“The campaign title #sportVEREINtuns hits the heart of what has been missing: The social togetherness such as integration, community, team spirit, solidarity and much more. With the campaign we want to generate attention and motivate people to become part of a dynamic club community”, said Hartel.

Under the motto “Come, try it out, carry on”, the families were able to try out new and familiar sports for free and enjoy the communal atmosphere at the sports festival, which last year could only be streamed as a one-hour digital magazine. In addition to fun and trend sports such as floorball, disc golf, spikeball and padel tennis, there were offers in traditional sports such as gymnastics, rugby, archery, dancing, judo, rowing, table tennis, hockey, handball and soccer. Wheelchair basketball and para-boccia were offered for people with disabilities. The opportunity to acquire the German sports badge was also widely used.
