Latvian basketball player Mārtiņš Laksa continues his career in Hungary – Basketball

Laksa, 31, was tied up after American striker Donte Thomas failed medical examinations.

Laksa spent the last two seasons at the Polish club “Start” in Lublin. In the Polish championship, he scored 14.1 points in the average of 30 minutes played in 28 matches in the previous season, realizing 43.4% long shots, winning 3.7 rebounds and returning 1.3 assists. In the FIBA ​​Champions League, Laksa scored an average of 13.5 points in six dues, scored 45.2% long shots, won 3.7 balls under the baskets and made 1.5 assists.

At the end of the season, the Latvian basketball player played for the Spanish Premier League (ACB) team “Movistar Estudiantes” in Madrid. In six battles, he had an average of 3.2 points in nine minutes, 40% long shots and 1.3 rebounds.

In 2017, Laksa went for the first time in her career as a legionnaire, representing the ACB club “Obradoiro” in Compostela for two seasons. In his first ACB season, he went to Laksa Square in 28 fights, in which he scored 3.6 points on average in ten minutes, but in the 2018/2019 season he participated in only two matches.

Laksa has played for “VEF Rīga”, “Ventspils”, “Jūrmala” / “Fenikss” and “Valmiera” / ORDO teams. He is a two-time Latvian champion, winning the first title with “VEF Rīga”, but in 2016 he triumphed with Valmiera club. He is also the 2013 Baltic Basketball League (BBL) champion.

In the Latvian national team, he went to Laksa Square in 17 games, in which he scored an average of 5.1 points and won 1.9 rebounds.

The Szekesfehervar team took fifth place in the regular season of the Hungarian Championship last season and stopped in the first round of play-offs.
