Joel Embiid extends to Philadelphia 76ers for $ 196 million

According to the American media ESPN, Joel Embiid has just signed a four-year extension with his club Philadelphia 76ers, a “supermax” contract in the amount of 196 million dollars (approximately 167 million euros). The extension will take effect from the 2023-2024 season. The Cameroonian hub will be under contract with the Pennsylvanian franchise until 2027, for a total income of 261 million dollars (around 222 million euros).

At 27, Embiid spent his entire NBA career with the 76ers, who drafted him in third place in 2014. First injured, he then brought a lot to his franchise, bringing him to the play-offs during of the last four seasons. With a career average of 24.8 points and 11.3 rebounds, he is among the best players in the NBA and has been playing the All-Star Game since 2018.
