The 2018 world champion is suspected of four rapes and a sexual assault, for acts which occurred between October 2020 and August 2021 in the county of Chester (south of Liverpool), according to the press release from the British judicial authorities.
“Indicted by the police”, Benjamin Mendy (27) is suspended by Manchester City. “The case is subject to a legal process and the club can therefore not make additional comments until this process is completed,” said the English club in its statement.
