The 2024 Giro d’Italia will start on Saturday 4 May from Venaria Reale and will end on Sunday 26 May in Rome. The Corsa Rosa includes the contest of 21 stageswith a fairly balanced subdivision regarding the type of difficulty: six mountain hamlets, six for sprinters, two time trials, six rough days or suitable for escapes.

The first uphill arrival is expected already in the second stage with the finish line at the Sanctuary of Oropa. The first real mountains, however, will only arrive on the eighth day with the Prati di Tivo. The second week will end with the Livigno stage and the ascent to Mottolino after having faced Stelvio and Foscagno. Two very tough stages at the start of the third week with the conclusion at Monte Pana and Passo del Brocon, while the penultimate stage will end in Bassano del Grappa after having climbed Monte Grappa twice.

For sprinters, the third and fourth stages are indicated (Fossano and Andora), the eleventh (Francavilla al Mare), the thirteenth (Cento), the eighteenth and twenty-first (Padova and Rome). There will be two time trials: 40.6 km in the seventh stage (Foligno-Perugia) and 31.2 km in the fourteenth (Castiglione delle Stiviere-Desenzano del Garda). Many moving stages such as the opening one (Venaria Reale-Turin), Avezzano-Naples and Pompei-Cusano Mutri (ninth and tenth), Mortegliano-Sappada (nineteenth).
