In fact, in the last round of the first leg, the Gialloblù had appeared in Riccione, the temporary ‘home’ of New Rimini thanks to the restyling work at the Pirates’ stadium, exhibiting a nice clear path with eight wins out of as many outings. And now the streak has lengthened to 10, thanks to two clear statements on the Adriatic coast (0-10, 1-11 the results, with both matches being archived in the 8th inning with the formula of ‘ manifest inferiority ‘). The gap between the two teams is too clear for there to be a match, the differences in values are too marked. In game one, however, the New Rimini essentially holds for 6 rounds (0-2 the partial), to give in with a crash at 7th, when Modena packs a ‘big inning’ of 6 points. The Romagna players pay a high price for the change of the pitcher, with Aiello and Tognacci unable to stem the Emilian line-up, which was instead managed by the starter Di Giacomo. History then goes on to repeat itself in the spotlight, in a competition that is resolved in fact in the third, when Comcor, after two blank innings, scores 4 points and breaks the match. On the first shoulder there is the clear imprint of Martone, his 3 pt homer that brings the New Rimini to its knees. Martone himself will then grant an encore, for him another beaten over the fence on the 6th, as if to write the final word on the match. Pompilio also uses strong manners, who always signs the third home run of the day in the second half of the day for the leaders. Modena dominates in attack and the mountain does not discount, with Hurtado Noa, the eternal Ventura and Calero Gamez who realize the beauty of 14 strike-outs in a cooperative in 8 innings. The defense is still free from flaws, for a very comfortable success, never questioned. Comcor will host Sala Baganza on Saturday.
