Judo: Stevan Maitin 5th

Stevan Maitin, member of the Collombey-Muraz judo school, took part in a European Cadet Cup (U-18) in Bucharest. For his second appearance in a qualifying competition for the European Championships, he demonstrated his full potential at just 15 years old by finishing in fifth place in the under 55kg category which brought together 26 judokas.

To make it to the semifinals, Stevan Maitin won three fights, including two on an arm lock and one by maximum advantage in under twenty seconds.

In the last four, he was eliminated by the future winner. Stevan Maitin returns to Valais with the assurance of bright days ahead and, who knows, of a presence at the next European Championships in Riga which will take place in August. GC
