Young Valentin Kern Shines at Bad’in Dommart Tournament

Bad’in Dommart (13th edition) Last weekend

For its traditional annual tournament, the DBC welcomed nearly 200 badistas spread across 20 singles, doubles and mixed tables last weekend.

In the men’s S1 draw, it was young hopeful Valentin Kern (BNV) who won on Sunday by defeating local Alain Bechet (DBC).

Having passed through a mouse hole during the group stage, the 16-year-old from Nancy managed to reach the final to win against Bechet, in a game where each player will have had their period and where the freshness of the junior made the difference at the end (21-15, 10-21, 21-16).

In the S1 ladies, the announced duel between Cléa Hantz-Alberti (TSB Jarville) and Strasbourg’s Élise Geitner turned to the advantage of the latter during a clear victory in two sets (21-8, 21-11) .

This same Élise Geitner even managed the double by pocketing the S1 ladies’ doubles with her club partner Elsa Ferber against the local pair Scarpellini/Azou, who still sold their skin dearly in this tight final (13-21, 21- 19, 21-15).

In the men’s doubles, there was also a suspenseful final in this derby between the local pair Schoindre/Robert and the Gondrevillois Manciot/Massini. In a spectacular match where each team went blow for blow, the DBC players thought they had done the hardest in the 3rd round, but they finally saw the duo of BG 54 turn the situation around to win the bet (18-21, 21 -19, 21-17).

The Gondreville club pocketed a second title by winning the mixed S1 thanks to Killian Manciot and Marie Massini, who defeated the Dommartemontese pair Schurter/Bechet in two sets (21-14, 21-19) .

Finally, we will note pell-mell the victories of Sébastien Dupont (TSB Jarville) in S3 men, of Mathilde Schwartz (DBC) in S2 ladies, of the pair Bache/Jooris (BG 54) in doubles men S2 and finally of the pair Vuillemin ( BG 54)/Perrot (ASBPAM) in women’s doubles S2.
