Judo Borodavko will start the Olympic tournament against a Hungarian athlete

The competition in the weight category up to 100 kilograms will take place in a week, on July 29.

During his career, Cirjenics has won one Grand Slam and one Grand Prix each. Five years ago in Rio de Janeiro, he suffered a loss in his first fight.

The two judoists have met each other three times. In 2014, a Rigan won the Grand Prix, but in 2016 and 2017, the opponent was superior in the Grand Slam.

In the second round, the winner of this fight will meet with the judge of the Russian Olympic Committee (OKR) Niyaz Ilyasov.

For 34-year-old Borodavko, this will be the fourth Olympic Games in a row. At the 2008 and 2016 Olympics, Borodavko lost in the first fight, but stopped in 2012 after the second fight.

Borodavko has three bronze medals at the European Championships.

The Tokyo Olympics will open on July 23 and end on August 8.
