Jannik Sinner has successfully reported back after the first round defeat at Wimbledon.

Four weeks after his early failure against Marton Fucsovics in London, Sinner advanced one round at the ATP 250 tournament in Atlanta late on Monday evening in doubles alongside the American Reilly Opelka. Sinner / Opelka won in the first round against the number 2 seeded duo Jonathan Erlich (Israel) and Santiago Gonzalez (Mexico) in 53 minutes with 6: 2, 6: 2.

In the individual, Sinner will (probably on Wednesday) either face the US-American Denis Kudla (ATP 103) or the Australian Christopher O’Connell (ATP 132). Sinner is ranked 2nd in the seeding list at the hard court tournament in Atalanta.
