Football Ligue 1 – DNCG: PSG, OM and OL, the dunces of Ligue 1

As every year, the DNCG unveiled the financial results of all residents of Ligue 1 for the previous season. Individual reports that highlight the difficulties of the biggest teams in the championship, starting with Paris Saint-Germain.

After the hearings of recent weeks, the National Management Control Department (DNCG) published the financial results of each Ligue 1 resident for the 2019-2020 season. We learn, for example, that Lille, the French champion who was still in great danger last January, has the best record. Indeed, the LOSC accounts show a profit of 22 million euros.

The huge deficit of PSG!

A better balance than that of the second best student, namely Nîmes Olympique (+ 8.5 million euros). Then comes the Angers club which completes the top three with a positive account of 8 million euros. On the other hand, other teams encountered more difficulties. We especially think of the biggest teams in the championship, starting with Paris Saint-Germain. The club of the capital is indeed elected worst student in this year with a deficit estimated at 124 million euros! Of course, this disturbing figure did not prevent Parisian leaders from sleeping.

The resident of the Parc des Princes can count on the support of his Qatari owner to rebalance the accounts if necessary. On the other hand, it is more complicated for the two Olympics who complete the podium of the Ligue 1 dunces. Marseille actually shows a negative result of 97.8 million euros! While Lyon has a balance sheet of – 36.6 million euros. Suffice to say that these figures should not have reassured the financial policeman, all the same well aware that the health crisis and the disengagement of the broadcaster Mediapro have considerably weighed down the clubs.
