Bamberg. Basketball Bundesliga club Brose Bamberg has signed American Trevis Simpson.

The 29-year-old comes from the Turkish first division club Gaziantep Basketbol and is intended to be the shooting guard of the German former champions. Simpson already knows the Bundesliga from his time at Rasta Vechta in the 2019/20 season. After Justin Robinson, he is the second foreign player in the Upper Franconian squad. There are also seven German professionals so far.

Head coach Johan Roijakkers emphasized that his newcomer already knew the BBL and the Champions League. “In addition to his shooting, I am particularly impressed by his athletic abilities. They make him extremely flexible in defense and allow him to defend various positions.”

Simpson played as a professional in Greece, Finland, France, the Philippines, Hungary, Italy and most recently Turkey. Bamberg is “a great club with a big name in Europe”, he said and promised to leave everything on the court in every game.
