Under the agreement, Sportradar Integrity Services will offer its experience and knowledge, having monitored the global betting markets for more than 15 years, to provide monitoring and reporting of betting through its Universal Fraud Detection System (UFDS) for the matches of badminton in the BEC, BEC International Challenge, BEC International Series and BEC Future Series tournaments.

The UFDS is a betting monitoring system that has been independently evaluated and verified by recognized experts in the field of sports betting and integrity. A global team of integrity experts analyzes betting patterns for anomalies, and any suspicious matches are subsequently reported to their partners, allowing critical visibility into match-fixing around the world.

Sportradar’s integrity services have detected more than 6,000 suspicious matches over the past 15 years, of which more than 600 occurred in 2020 alone.

Brian Agerbak, Badminton Europe Secretary General said: “This agreement demonstrates Badminton Europe’s commitment to addressing the threat of match-fixing. By incorporating the experience of Sportradar Integrity Services to monitor our competitions through their UFDS platform, we now have valuable information on the betting markets on offer and the activity that occurs in our tournaments globally, and our tournaments are enhanced by having these protections ”.

Sportradar Integrity Services Managing Director Andreas Krannich added: “We are delighted to sign this agreement with Badminton Europe to help support the integrity of European badminton competitions. At Sportradar we have witnessed growing evidence of match-fixing globally in recent years in a variety of sports, and it is vital, now more than ever, that strong integrity measures are put in place. Sportradar Integrity Services has a proven track record in this field, and the UFDS services provided through this agreement will offer significant assistance to Badminton Europe in its quest to identify and mitigate all forms of integrity risk related to gambling. ”
